PEEKSKILL , N.Y. -- The city gathered together Sunday morning at the Riverfront Green to remember those who lost their lives in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Dozens of residents joined city and county officials and Peekskill's emergency responders in a ceremony that began at about the time the attacks began 10 years ago. The ceremony featured two speakers from the fire department - Chief Lenny Varella and Deputy Chief Jim Howard. City clergy and elected officials also took part in the memorial.

The bell at the ceremony rang twice - once at the time each plane hit the towers.
